Cabbage Fritters with Yogurt-Dill Sauce

Cabbage Fritters with Yogurt-Dill Sauce

Ingredients:

Fritters:
  • 500 g cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons flour (60 g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (8 g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper (4 g)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (4 g)
To Fry:
  • Vegetable oil
Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt (75 g)
  • 2 sprigs of dill, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, grated
  • Red powdered pepper to taste

instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, cooked onions, and garlic. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add them to the cabbage mixture.
  3. Add the flour, salt, ground red pepper, and black pepper to the cabbage mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Cook the Fritters:
  1. Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Scoop spoonfuls of the cabbage mixture into the skillet, flattening them slightly to form fritters.
  3. Fry the fritters for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Adjust the heat as necessary to avoid burning.
  4. Transfer the cooked fritters to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
    Prepare the Sauce:
  5. In a small bowl, combine the yogurt, chopped dill, and grated cucumber. Mix well.
  6. Sprinkle with red powdered pepper to taste.

Serve:

  • Serve the cabbage fritters warm with the yogurt sauce on the side.
  • Serve these fritters as a side dish with grilled meats or fish.
  • They also make a great vegetarian main course when paired with a hearty salad or some roasted vegetables.
