Crockpot Steak Bites
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef sirloin, stew meat, or chuck roast , cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion , sliced
- 3 garlic cloves , minced
- 1 cup beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper , to taste
Instructions:
Step 1: Prep the Ingredients
- Cut the beef into bite-sized cubes (about 1–1.5 inches). Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Slice the onion, mince the garlic, and prep any optional veggies you’d like to include.
Step 2: Brown the Steak (Optional but Recommended)
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites in batches until browned on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per batch). This step adds extra flavor but can be skipped if you’re short on time.
Step 3: Combine Everything in the Crockpot
- Place the browned steak bites (or raw cubes, if skipping the browning step) into the crockpot.
- Add the sliced onion, garlic, and any optional veggies (like potatoes, carrots, or mushrooms).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, thyme, and a pinch of pepper. Pour the sauce evenly over the ingredients in the crockpot.
Step 4: Cook
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours , until the steak is fork-tender and the flavors have melded together.
