Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Cheesy Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

For the steak bites:
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the smashed potatoes:
  • 1 pound baby potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. For the potatoes:
  • Boil the potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
  • Place potatoes on the griddle, smash them lightly with a spatula, then drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook until golden and crispy, about 10 minutes on each side.
  • Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and cook until melted.
  1. For the steak bites:
  • Heat the griddle over high heat and add butter.
  • Once the butter is melted and foamy, add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the steak bites, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.

  1. You always have greasy fatty food, that would be bad for the cholesterol in the arteries.
    People should be looking toward healthy food.
    Every recipe is something you make all the time, or every week or all the time, which I very much doubt.
    It makes you out as trying to push the recipes on everybody. You don’t take into account allergies or reflux or indigestion which fatty foods will give.

    1. You don’t have to make the recipes. You don’t have to like them. Most of all, you don’t have to worry about those of us who do like them, and you don’t have to worry about our cholesterol levels, or our allergies, or our acid reflux, or our indigestion. But it’s sweet of you that you do.

    2. Karen – go eat your Tofu! But remember, if you and I both got hit by a bus. The only difference would be your poop would be cleaner than mine! Buzz off!
