Slow Cooker Beer Brats with Onions

Ingredients:

  • 4 onions
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 local beers
  • 12 brats
  • ½ cup sweet barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Slice onions into thick rings.4 onions
  2. Sauté onions in butter until softened, but not completely cooked. Do not caramelize.¼ cup butter
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce. Mix well.½ cup sweet barbecue sauce,¼ cup Dijon mustard,1 teaspoon hot sauce
  4. Add onions to slow cooker. Pour barbecue sauce mixture over onions and mix well.
  5. Grill brats about 3 minutes on each side to crisp the outer skin.12 brats
  6. Add Brats to Crockpot. Pour beers over onions and brats. Cook in Crockpot 4 to 6 hours on low.2 local beers
