Smothered Salisbury Steak Bake

Ingredients:

For the Salisbury Steaks

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Creamy Gravy

  • 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon parsley

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into six large oval patties.
  4. Arrange the patties in the prepared baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, parsley, and black pepper until smooth.
  6. Pour the creamy gravy evenly over the beef patties, making sure they are well coated.
  7. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes, or until the patties are fully cooked and the gravy is bubbling.
  10. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
