Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops

My Slow Cooker Smothered Pork Chops recipe takes this classic comfort food and makes it easier than ever! It’s an instant family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 4 Thick cut pork chops Boneless or bone-in
  • 10.5 oz Cream of mushroom soup canned
  • 10.5 oz Cream of chicken soup canned
  • 1 cup Chicken broth low sodium
  • 2 cups Mushrooms sliced
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 1½ teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion powder

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel, then season them with the paprika, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. 4 Thick cut pork chops,1½ teaspoons Paprika,1 teaspoon Black pepper,1 teaspoon Salt,½ teaspoon Onion powder,½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  3. Add the oil to a skillet over medium heat. When the skillet is hot, add the pork chops and brown them on each side, roughly 3-5 minutes per side.
  4. Add in both canned soups and the chicken broth. Stir, making sure to scrape up any browned bits on the bottom of the pan. Cook five minutes and remove from the heat.
  5. 10.5 oz Cream of mushroom soup,10.5 oz Cream of chicken soup,1 cup Chicken broth
  6. Slice the onions and mushrooms, then add them to the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with the pork chops and then pour the soup mixture over top.
  7. 2 cups Mushrooms,1 Onion
  8. Set the heat to LOW, and cook for 4-6 hours or until the meat is tender and juicy. Optional- add a slurry of 2 tablespoons corn starch and 2 tablespoons water to thicken the sauce.
  9. Remove from the slow cooker, and serve with the gravy, onions, and mushrooms!

  1. If we are only cooking for 1, do we just freeze the rest in single serving containers for meals when we are lazy?

    1. It looks like this serves 4. Divide the ingredients by 4 to make 1 serving. You will have to divide the soups and freeze for making it again in the future. If you have a larger slow cooker, you could make the full recipe and freeze extra servings in individual containers.

  2. Is that a dollop of sour cream on top? No mention of it in the recipe. Unless I missed it.
