Diabetic Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
- Refrigerated crescent rolls (2 cans, 8 oz each) 2
- Apple pie filling (20 oz can) 1
- Unsalted butter (1 cup, 2 sticks) 1
- Brown sugar (1 cup) 1
- Lemon-lime soda (12 oz can) 1
Preparation:
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare crescent rolls: Separate crescent roll dough into triangles.
- Fill crescent rolls: Place apple pie filling in the center of each triangle.
- Roll up dumplings: Roll up crescent rolls, pinch edges to seal. Place in baking dish.
- Make sauce: Melt butter, add brown sugar, whisk until combined.
- Pour sauce: Pour sauce over dumplings.
- Add soda: Pour lemon-lime soda around the edges of the baking dish.
- Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and sauce is bubbly.
