Diabetic Apple Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • Refrigerated crescent rolls (2 cans, 8 oz each) 2
  • Apple pie filling (20 oz can) 1
  • Unsalted butter (1 cup, 2 sticks) 1
  • Brown sugar (1 cup) 1
  • Lemon-lime soda (12 oz can) 1

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare crescent rolls: Separate crescent roll dough into triangles.
  3. Fill crescent rolls: Place apple pie filling in the center of each triangle.
  4. Roll up dumplings: Roll up crescent rolls, pinch edges to seal. Place in baking dish.
  5. Make sauce: Melt butter, add brown sugar, whisk until combined.
  6. Pour sauce: Pour sauce over dumplings.
  7. Add soda: Pour lemon-lime soda around the edges of the baking dish.
  8. Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and sauce is bubbly.
